A comment on one of my previous scribbles made me realize something--I'd never uploaded this here. Which is a bit of a shame because it gives some backstory to Ryst and her peculiar (at least for an Elite) eyewear.
Long story short—heat of battle, big explosion right up in her face that causes the visual systems in her helmet to overload; the white ports for her eyes “pop” and provide a substantial amount of ocular damage, leaving her near-blinded.
Elites seem to be able to heal off damage fairly quickly, so the state of being almost blind doesn’t last. On the other hand—it takes Ryst a long time to heal over and her vision never returns to its perfect state due to the extent of the damage. It results in her being essentially nearsighted due to incomplete healing. Obviously, they realize they can’t operate on or try to “fix” her eyes since no human around has that kind of medical know-how, so it’s Fallout’s idea to go the traditional route and pick her up a pair of glasses. She hates them at first, but the payoff of being able to see normally makes her stick with them until wearing them is basically second nature.

Thank you! I am flattered. I would say just go and do it! I know that sounds like really general advice, but I say that all the time-- "I wish I could sketch like that artist" and so forth. The best way to reach that point is to keep working. It can get discouraging but by working consistently you'll be honestly impressed by how much you can learn. Of course I still have a ways to go myself, but as long as you're sketching a little each day, you're bound to pick things up. :>
XD I do, but I just can't get any better. I dunno why, but lately my drawing hand hasn't been reponding very well. I have no clue why.
